Recipe

Iron Skillet Brownies with Homemade Fudge Sauce

2 1oz. squares semi-sweet chocolate squares 2 tablespoons vanilla (I prefer Adams best)
1 stick butter 1/4 cup flour
1 cup sugar 1/4 t. salt
2 eggs 1 cup chopped pecans

Preheat oven to 325 F. Grease an 8 x 2 square pan.
Melt chocolate and butter in an iron skillet over medium heat; stir to prevent scorching. Remove
from heat and stir in sugar. Add eggs and vanilla;stir in flour, salt and pecans. Mix well. Pour into
prepared pan. Bake for 40 minutes. Let cool and cut into squares.
Variation: I ground almonds in a food processor then toasted on top of the stove in about 3 T butter.
Watch these because they burn easily. Yummy!

FUDGE SAUCE

2/3 cup sugar
2/3 cup carnation milk

Melt butter and chocolate in a sauce pan. Add sugar. Slowly add milk stirring constantly. Bring
mixture to a boil and boil for 4 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla. It will thicken as it cools.
