In Christ Alone (Beautiful Lyrics)

In Christ Alone

by Keith Getty & Stuart Townend

In Christ alone my hope is found;
He is my light, my strength, my song;
This cornerstone, this solid ground,
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm.
What heights of love, what depths of peace,
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease!
My comforter, my all in all—
Here in the love of Christ I stand.

In Christ alone, Who took on flesh,
Fullness of God in helpless babe!
This gift of love and righteousness,
Scorned by the ones He came to save.
Till on that cross as Jesus died,
The wrath of God was satisfied;
For ev'ry sin on Him was laid—
Here in the death of Christ I live.

There in the ground His body lay,
Light of the world by darkness slain;
Then bursting forth in glorious day,
Up from the grave He rose again!
And as He stands in victory,
Sin's curse has lost its grip on me;
For I am His and He is mine—
Bought with the precious blood of Christ.

No guilt in life, no fear in death—
This is the pow'r of Christ in me;
From life's first cry to final breath,
Jesus commands my destiny.
No pow'r of hell, no scheme of man,
Can ever pluck me from His hand;
Till He returns or calls me home—
Here in the pow'r of Christ I'll stand.

A Poem

(A Poem about the Bible)

This Book is the mind of God, the state of man, the way of salvation,
the doom of sinners, and the happiness of believers.

Its doctrines are holy, its precepts are binding;

its histories are true, and its decisions are immutable.

Read it to be wise, believe it to be safe, practice it to be holy.

It contains light to direct you, food to support you, and comfort to cheer you.

It is the traveler’s map, the pilgrim’s staff, the pilot’s compass, the soldier’s sword, and the Christian’s character.

Here paradise is restored, heaven opened, and the gates of hell disclosed.

Christ is its grand subject, our good its design, and the glory of God its end.

It should fill the memory, rule the heart, and guide the feet.

Read it slowly, frequently, prayerfully.

It is a mine of wealth, a paradise of glory, and a river of pleasure.

Follow its precepts and it will lead you to Calvary, to the empty tomb, to a resurrected life in Christ; yes, to glory itself, for eternity.

Happy Little Isaac

Can you believe that little Isaac will be 4 months old tomorrow?  Well, I can’t.  It seems like it was just yesterday that he was born and added to our family.  We love him so much!

His big sisters love “their” baby.  Always wanting to hold and help him!!!  He has some brothers that feel the same way.  Lots of helpers to go around to help him when he needs something or wants attention:)

Help Needed and Update

We need your help!  Today, marks 4 weeks to the due date of baby boy Shelby and we have no names!!!

I thought I would ask my friends out there in bloggy/facebook land, if any of you might have any suggestions of any names that might go with the ones we have already.  Don’t forget it must go with Shelby!

Here are our boys names so you can get a feel for our flavor:

Cade Cameron

Ian Andrew

Tate Riley

Cai Daniel

Abram James

Asa McClain

Can’t wait to see what you come up with :)

Now, I thought I would update you on what’s been happening around here.  The Never-ending stomach bug seems to have finally left our house!!!  It lasted for at least 1 1/2 weeks around.  It was a nasty little bug who is not welcome back in our home.

We decided to go ahead and hire painters and a floor guy to finish our addition instead of finishing it ourselves.  It was a good learning experience for Rob and the boys but it was just taking Rob away from our family time too much.

The painters started last week and should finish up the interior portion of the addition this week.  They are going to complete the exterior portion as well once the weather permits.  We need a few days of warmer weather.  Also, we decided to go ahead and paint the rest of the main house (except the original upstairs which is the boys area).  All of the downstairs of our home will finally have a little bit of color besides the neutral color that the previous owners painted the entire house before they sold it.  Don’t get me wrong.  It wasn’t bad.  It was just the same thing everywhere and we like a little bit more life.  They will get started on this part next week.  Trying to get it all finished before the baby arrives:)  Once I’m 37 weeks (next Monday), he is welcome to come before it’s finished if he so chooses.   I won’t complain!

The floor guys will come in after the painters are finished with the addition to complete our project.  They will finish the downstairs portion of the wood floor that needs to be completed, install the wood floors in the entire upstairs addition (except the  bathrooms…Rob tiled them), and put in our wood steps for the stairway.  Also, they are going to tile the two new hallway closets downstairs.  Then, the painters will come back and stain and finish the stairway.

YEAH!!!  I’m so excited that it is actually going to be complete within the next few weeks.  Can’t wait!  I’ll will finally be able to post the finished construction update with pictures of the addition and the before and after pics of the exterior of the house.

It’s going to be busy around here for the next couple of weeks but then we’ll be finished.  Baby Shelby will be here and we can settle back into a routine again, Lord-willing.

Can't believe!

I need to be saying, "Don't Cry Over Split (Milk) Diet Coke!" Yes, I can't believe I spilt a diet coke all over the keypad of my netbook Saturday. It stopped working but I am drying it out right now. Hopefully, it will work again very soon.
Just wanted to let you know that is why you won't be seeing much of me right now. It was the computer I used for everything especially blogging. It was very convenient to take with me anywhere inside or outside of the house. My other computer is not as friendly for that since I need to be with my children and it is in my room.
I have several post that I would like to do but it isn't as easy/convenient on my regular computer. Hopefully, I will be able to share them with you soon. Also, I won't be able to comment on the blogs that I keep up with and if and when I get my netbook working my feed list will be out of control for me to try and catch up. Just letting you know in case you wonder why you're not hearing me.

Mauna Loa Milk Chocolate Coconut Macadamias

We were getting the mail and newspapers for our neighbors the last 10 days while they were on vacation in Hawaii.  They got back today and brought us a big bag of these as a thank you.  I didn’t think i would like them because of the coconut but they are delightful!  The coconut is so smooth is just blends in with the chocolate :)  I’m in love!!!

Great Appreciation!

EIDW6105GB

This is a picture of my new dishwasher!  I’m so very thankful for it.  You see my other one broke a little over 3 weeks ago.

Rob installed my new one last night for which I am grateful.  Washing dishes by hand for over 3 weeks with so many people living in the house has given me great appreciation for my dishwasher.

For those of you who do not have one, I have great appreciation for your daily hand washing of dishes!

Is This for Real?

pic

Tuesday night, the ladies from our bible study group met for a time of fellowship and dinner at a local restaurant.  We had a good time and the food was excellent.

My friend, Candy, not Candi had been on bed rest since 32 weeks and has made it to 37 weeks so she is back up and about waiting for Leah Rose to make her presence.  She joined us since she missed bible study last month but wasn’t ready to go home after dinner so me, Candy, and Candi went to Walgreens to walk around and browse.

While we were walking the aisles, we came across this little box in the baby section.  It is test strips to test to see if you have too much alcohol content in your breast milk.  We were amazed that they made such a test.  Can you believe they make test now so that women can go drink and then test their milk before nursing their babies?

Maybe the sign should read:

Don’t Drink and Drive Nurse!

Here’s Candi, Me, and Candy having fun in Walgreens!  You know how hard it was to take a picture with Candi’s phone with a 34 week pregnant friend, a 37 week pregnant friend and me in the picture together.  They had to put the bellies facing each other while I came in behind them :)

The other day I had Sarah riding on my shoulders so I decided to grab my camera and see if I could take any pictures of us together in the hallway mirror.  The lighting was not that good it was funny trying to get the shots.

Another bug!!

P1210080a

Since we are talking about bugs (stomach bugs and such), let me ask you a question.  Does anyone else have a problem with Potato Bugs?

They are everywhere but mostly in one corner of my living room.  We noticed them when we moved in a year ago but didn’t think much of them because they were gone once it warmed up.  Some one told us that they were Potato bugs even though they look like Lady bugs.

Once again, they have been back since about December.  They remind me of our dreaded “love bug season” only they are in my house instead of outside.  You can find them lying on the ground dead..lots of them..daily.  We have to continually vacuum them up to keep the living room clean.  Every now and then, you will find them in another room.  They seem to like the color white and therefore hang out on my curtains too.

See what I mean.

P1210060 P1210065 P1210066

Let me know if you have any info regarding these bugs.  I would love to hear out it!!
