Paper Mosaics

It seems that we have not done a school project in a while. Everything seems busy and haven't had time or the particular week didn't really have a project that I thought we should do or want to do. This week Candi was ahead of the game and had her kids do the project on Monday. Mondays are not a day that I would try to tackle a project unless it was absolutely necessary because Mondays are usually the worst day of the week for us. Candi inspired me with the paper mosaics project this week because 1) it looked easy and 2) I thought my boys would enjoy it.
We have been studying about the Greeks and this project portrayed the way people decorated the floors of their houses. They would use bits of broken pottery pressed into the clay or would use colored stones and special tiles to make pretty designs or scenes. We used the book, Classical Kids by Laurie Carlson for this project.
Here are their creations:

Abram's

Tate's

Cai's

Cade's

Ian's

Can you tell who enjoyed doing this the most? This is Ian's second creation. He wanted to make a frame.
Thanks Candi for the inspiration or we may not have tried to fit a project in this week. Check out her children's creations here.
