I have been trying to capture a butterfly on camera for a while now. We always seem to have one flying around outside. Of course when I go get my camera, it is gone when I get back! Yesterday, I tried again and succeeded:) I went and got the camera and walked up slowly to the area where the butterfly was fluttering. It must have been in a picture taken mood. Here are a few shots from our "photo shoot".

These are AWESOME!!! I can't seem to get close enough before they fly away...do you have a zoom lens?? I just have kit lens and can't get too close with it!

These are fabulous! The color is so bright and beautiful. Great job keeping that butterfly close while you snapped.

Lantana is the perfect thing to lure them in with! Beautiful shots!!

Great shots - I like the second from bottom!
Great shots!!!! I think the last one is my favorite.
I'm glad the butterfly was in the mood for pictures!
Thanks for all of the sweet and encouraging comments!
I love butterflies. Great job. I am starting to notice more color in your photos and better lighting.
Great! I'll have to show Elizabeth these pictures, she has an unbelievable love for butterflies.
Elizabeth also calls your blog the Strawberry shortcake blog..because of the birthday cake/party. So when I talk about your blog I can't call you by name just Strawberry shortcake :)
Great shots Amy! You are doing great. Love them all.
I love the third
