Christmas with my Dad aka Poppy

On Christmas Eve, we went to spend time with my Dad and his wife along with some of her family.  My dad’s wife, Ginny, always goes out of her way and makes a feast for us to enjoy.  She is half Lebanese and her grandmother taught her how to make all of that delicious food.  She tries to make us a Greek feast at least once a year but she wasn’t able to make quite as much this year because my dad is remodeling their kitchen.  In fact, we got together at her daughter’s, Monica, house due to the remodeling.    She did make rolled grape leaves, cabbage rolls, and hummus along with regular food such as dressing, turkey, broccoli and cheese casserole, mac-n-cheese, candied yams, squash casserole, and Italian Cream Cake.  It was all delicious!!!

It was a fun evening.  The kids got to play on the Wii and play station which was a treat for them along with playing with Mimi’s other 3 grandchildren.

How did you spend your Christmas Eve?

Wow. That's neat and the food sounds delicious.

Christmas Eve dinner is always at my house with my sister and her kids.

Christmas day is at home with music, leftovers, and play.

Merry Christmas and a Healthy and Happy New Year.

Sounds like fun!
In Germany we celebrate Christmas Eve and usually get together with family. We have changed that a little and usually spend Christmas Eve at home....kids in bed at their regular bed time and then it is an evening just for Andy & me. We dress nicely and eat Fondue for a few hours. And this year we also stayed up till 2 am to play with the present Andy got for us.... a Wii :-)
Christmas day is all about the kids & family. We had a great time.

I love all the smiling faces, especially Asa's. Those sweet pinchable cheeks!!

We wrap and fix everything just so. Do a little baking, have hot cocoa or some other yummy and the kids all go to bed early (all on their own):-)

What a beautiful day~
