a new addition to our home. We will be starting very soon. We’ve gotten everything in place for the demolition and construction.
The dumpster was delivered yesterday.
The port-a-john was delivered and set-up yesterday too.
We rented a storage unit that’s in our yard as well so Rob can store all his stuff in while construction is taken place.
It’s a dumpster from Hurricane Katrina clean-up that was converted to a storage unit. It even has electrical lights so you can use it as a workshop.
Don’t you just love this:) I think everyone should have one of these in there yard…wink wink!
We’re adding on to make room for Rob’s mom who will be moving in with us due to her health. We will be adding an additional bedroom and bathroom downstairs for her. While we are doing the construction, we are going up as well. We will be adding a large playroom/schoolroom that can be converted to one or two additional bedrooms if needed in the future. a full bath, office, storage area upstairs above our garage, bringing the roof out to cover a large part of our patio, and the new addition below. Also, we are building a separate shop for Rob since the storage room is being used in the addition. Our neighborhood requires that a separate building must look like your house and can not be a portable building.
I’ll post the project during the process so you can see how it’s going. Afterwards, I’ll post before and after pictures.
Looks like it will be starting within a few days…we’ll see!

How Exciting!!!! :D
That looks neat. I like the dumpster. LOL
The additions sound great. You will enjoy the schoolroom and extra bathrooms. You probably have six months of construction ahead of you.
The outside of our home is a mess right now. We have a contractor painting. Then when that is done it looks like I have to get someone to regrout the pool tile at the water line. The pool is only about 3 years old, but I think the heat does a job on expansion.
WOW! You said construction...but sheesh! And is the John for you or the workers? LOL
Wow, that sounds like a LOT of work girl! How sweet of ya'll to do that for his Mom. I imagine you will have those things in your yard for a while! Have fun with the new addition process.
Yipee!! I know y'all must be pretty excited now. It'll be done before you know it.
So fun! And very exciting!!
If you can't find your boys ~ be sure to check the John!!
