Friday night, we went to the Hot Air Balloon Festival and spent the evening with other families from our church. We got there early (around 6 pm) to get a good spot to sit and watch.
We got to see the The 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) Command Parachute Demonstration Team and the BR Fire Dept did a repelling demonstration from 100 ft. up in the air. One came down head first (on purpose) while the other came down the right way. I didn’t get pictures of these things or anything else because I forgot my camera! Thanks to Pastor Dale for taking and sharing pictures with me for my blog :)
Thank you, Pastor Dale.
Setting the balloons up
We spent lots of time chatting and watching the kids playing.
Ian and Giovanni, Rob and Sarah

Me, Rob, Asa, and Sarah
As soon as it started getting dark, they had a balloon grow from all of the balloons. They did glows with all of the balloons at once and with them twinkling.
The Screaming Eagles
They did two demos once during daylight and once at night. The night one was a free fall from way up in the sky. The first picture shows you how they started out together. Next, they separated. Then, each one of them landed with the last one flying the American flag. It was really cool to watch.
The last thing for the evening was a firework show. These are just a few of the ones that were captured.
It was a great evening with a fun-filled family day to follow on Saturday. I’ll do a post on that as soon as I get a chance!

You FORGOT your camera!
Looks like a great time!
We love the balloon festival but ALWAYS go on Sunday morning for the quiet run. I can't stand big crowds.
Oh that looks like so much fun. Would love to go to a balloon festival someday.
