19 Weeks Update ~ Ultrasound

PA110056

Today, we had our 19 week check-up with ultrasound.  Everything was fine and the baby looked great.

We are pleased to announce that it’s a BOY!

This little boy was the most complicated ultrasound that we have had thus far.  He kept covering his face which made it difficult to get a good look at him.  Our oldest son, Cade, was born with a cleft lip which was detected at 19 weeks so they always look to check for this birth defect.  Also, the umbilical cord was between his legs or he kept them crossed so that we couldn’t get a peek at the gender.  Finally, the tech had to go get the other tech to finish up the ultrasound to see if she could get a better look at those two features.

All it took was one shot for each for this tech and we were able to see little boy parts and complete lips and nostrils.  He just wanted to be a little difficult and get us a few extra pictures!  I wonder if this is a sign of how he will be when he is born.  Hmmmm, we’ll see :)

Everyone is excited.  Well, everyone except Emma.  She wanted a little sister really bad so she is a little disappointed.  She just keeps saying, “but I wanted a girl” or “I want a 1000 girls.”  I know that she will be a good helper and love this little boy when he is born.  We have never had a child who cared this much on whether it was a sister or brother.

Happy news! You are a great mother of boys! I was very thankful to have your example as Sam (and then Matthew and then Andrew) got older. Thanking God for another sweet boy to grow up to godly manhood! Emma can cherish and give thanks for Sarah all the more.

Congratulations on a healthy new addition! My daughter was so disappointed when we found out our littlest was a boy too - but once he came, she was fine.
