Park Fun

Saturday, we went to a grand opening of a little community park that wasn’t too far from our house.  Thought we would check it out to see if it would be worth going to in the future especially during the week with friends.  It was a small park but nice.

We went to another park on Friday with some friends and all of us were looking for a park with no sand to play in.  None of the moms wanted the sand!  This park didn’t have sand.  It had woodchips instead which is better than sand in my opinion.  The park from Friday had the rubber material which is our favorite.

This is just a glimpse of the park.  It has two play ground sets one for smaller children and one for those a little bigger along with some other play equipment.  There’s a spray park that is open during the warm/hot seasons.  Plus, it had a sand volleyball area.  Obviously, they are still growing grass and the landscape will mature in time but it was a nice improvement compared to what was there in the past.

After playing, we went to lunch at one of our favorite Mexican restaurants, Las Palmas, for a delicious meal.  Then, it was time for naps.  We had to do early naps this day because we had a surprise birthday party to go to for one of the men in our church that evening.  It was a full day but a very enjoyable day spent together with the family.

Sand as a surface would not make me happy... around here stray cats would see it as one large kitty litter box!
