Egg Nog and Stuff

Tuesday, we decided to have a nice family evening together. We started off with a time of bible study together then we went outside to gaze at the stars and moon.

Rob decided he wanted some eggnog which used to be a tradition with his grandparents. I found a recipe and had all the ingredients so I whipped it up for everyone. Plus, we had some apple cider.

Rob and the kids got their binoculars out and took turns looking at the moon. It was a fantastic view and evening.

Here’s the recipe:

PC200104

Eggnog

from allrecipes.com

  • 6 eggs
  • 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 quart milk
  • 1/3 pint heavy whipping cream
  • 1 pinch ground nutmeg
  • 1 pinch salt
Directions
  1. Beat eggs; mix in condensed milk, vanilla, quart of milk and salt.
  2. Beat the whipping cream until soft peaks form. Fold in to egg and milk mixture and sprinkle with nutmeg. Serve chilled.

On another note, many people have been asking if Rob’s mom moved in yet. (That’s was the main reason for the addition.) Well, she will be moving in as of today. Her area is still not fully completed but it is habitable. Rob has been working as diligently has he could to finish it and will continue until it is done. The upstairs portion will not be completed for a while. He will work on it as he has time but we need to finish painting the patio and shop exterior sections before there is damage. Thankfully, we don’t need the upstairs yet but it will be nice when it is done.

I’d ask that you would pray for our family during this time of change and adjustments. Thank you in advance.

We love egg nog but have never made it ourselves. I might if I didn't buy eggs from the grocery store.

Praying for you and yours as you adjust.
