He’s Here

Baby Boy Shelby

(We’re working on his name!)

8:55 pm on March 8th

8 lbs 7 oz

20 in. long

We are both doing good.  His labor was  little longer than my last 5 but still not too bad.  I normally give birth around 30 minutes after getting to the hospital but this time it was about 4 hours with the last 50 minutes being the roughest.

I gave birth laying down in a hospital bed for the first 6 (all natural) with a doctor.  Then, I switched to my midwife  and the last 3 births have been different.  I gave birth to number 7 standing up squatting next to the bed, used a birthing stool for number 8, and experienced my first water birth yesterday with number 9.  I’d have to say that the squatting position is probably the best out of all of the experiences. The birthing tub was all right but I had a hard time getting a good comfortable position to give birth.  I’m glad I got a chance to experience it.

I’ll let you know when he has a name :)

Congratulations! What a precious little man with an amazing abundance of hair! :o)

You have such a positive "spin" on the variety of birthing methods you have experienced! Nothing short of glorifying to the Lord in the various comments you make..."but still not too bad...I'm glad I got the chance to experience it..."

I will be praying as you and your family adjust to this "newness" of life.
