Egyptian Paddle Dolls

This week we began our study on Egypt. Our project this week was to make Egyptian Paddle Dolls to represent the dolls they would have had back then. The kids had a fun time making these dolls. Yes, I even survived the paint and mess!
Cai and Abram getting started.
Ian and Cade
We did the work in stages. I helped Tate, Cai, and Abram. Cade and Ian were able to do more on their on. I am so thankful for this. This makes all the difference for doing projects. This also allowed me to do some of our reading at the same time.
You will notice that they are in different clothes because this was a two day project. We had to let the body dry before we painted the face and necklace on the doll.

Tate...he did such a good job on this project. I thought he would need more help but he did most of his all by himself.

These are the bodies drying.

My silly guys....Cai and Abram! They really had a great time.
Busy little bees.
Cade and Ian

They love to show off. These guys were helping me strand the beads for the hair.

Ian and Cade showing off their completed dolls.
Abram, Tate, and Cai showing off their completed dolls. It is so hard to get Tate to give us a real smile when taking pictures. Obviously, I did not get one for this one either. (By the way, another different outfit because they were getting ready to go swimming at the
YMCA.)
