Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow

Last night at church my friend, Laura, said it might snow today. I hadn't seen the weather report so I really didn't think it would. We don't get snow here in South Louisiana very often. In fact I think it has been about 7 years since it has snowed here. We were having our prayer time at church and she prayed for snow. This morning I got up to get in the shower and Rob left for work. This was around 5:45 AM and I heard a loud knock on my bathroom window. I ran to the back door to see what he needed and I found this below:

Rob called my cell phone a little after 6 AM while driving to work and told me to go ahead and wake up the boys to see the snow. We didn't know how long it would last. It was coming down pretty heavy and lasted several hours.
They went outside early to play even before breakfast. We decided to cancel school for the day due to the wintry weather!

They found the boys out across the street and started a snowball fight across the road.

Then some other neighbors called the boys over to build a snowman. That didn't last because it turned into a snowball fight boys against girls. The girls started the fight!!

One of our neighbor girls making a snow angel.

Abram in the snow.
He had built a little snowman by him but all you can see in the picture is the orange carrot!

Playing in the backyard.

Emma finally got to come out before lunch after everything started melting.

Sarah put her cap on for the special occasion but didn't go out to play.

Building a snowman.
They don't have much patience for a snowman. They would rather throw snowballs!!

Emma with a snowball.

The boys had rubber boots but Emma had trash bags around her feet to protect her jeans and shoes.
My mom used to do this to me and my sister when it was snowy and icy in North Louisiana. We would see this type of wintry weather more frequently up there. Do you remember those days, Momma aka Nana?
This was our day! How was yours?

Very cool! Glad you guys had fun! My Mom used to use bread bags over our shoes, ha. We saw a bit more snow when I was little, in NC. My kids will have to get used to the southeast Texas climate though!
