This week we have been studying about the ancient Americas with a focus on the Mayan people. Friday night we will be going over to Candi's house to have a Mexican feast with an emphasis on corn. Corn was a very important food source for them.

The Mayans had a very complex writing system. I thought the numbers were pretty simple considering the complex writing. The boys had fun. They are enjoying reading, "The Corn Grows Ripe". This is another book that goes along with our reading for the week.
