We just finished reading this book as part of our history study of the Romans. This is an excellent read for all ages.
Here is an excerpt from the back of the book:
Onesimus is a slave. Eirene is a rich merchant's daughter. Onesimus longs to gain his freedom and Eirene's love. However, he doesn't realise where true freedom lies. He wants nothing to do with Jesus Christ. His master, Philemon, may follow the teachings of the Christ and his apostle Paul ... but Onesimus has other plans.
For you ladies whose emotions can be stirred, you will need some tissue during parts of the book. My boys can't understand when I have these emotional moments and why you would cry watching a movie or reading a book. Tried to explained the difference between boys and girls and how God made us but they have got that part yet. I'm sure as they get older it will be easier to understand so there is always a teaching moment.
