Patio Project ~ Part 4

This is the final post for the project except for maybe a before and after shot once we decide on landscape and such.
Yesterday, the crew came out and started on our patio by doing the dirt work to build up the area. It took 6 dump truck loads of dirt for the new patio area.

This is some of the dirt that had been dumped and the spreading has begun.

They were digging to find the leak from the busted pipe. There are three pipes on top of each other in this location. Guess which one busted? The bottom one of all things. They dug it up and repaired t and all was good.

Some of the dirt waiting to be dumped in the patio area.

Ian was out there working in the backyard and made his way to oversee the situation. The owner's son who was around 11 years old was out there helping so Ian started hanging out with them for a while. He even got to help with the dirt.

They brought in a smaller backhoe to use instead of the larger one once the water pipe busted. This was the view from our back door.
This morning they came in with the last load of dirt and finished the dirt work. Prepped it for the concrete and put the barrier down. Here it is waiting for the concrete.
The concrete truck was able to come in the backyard to dump right on top of the patio area.
The first bit of concrete coming out of the truck.
Here we go!
Working hard....

Here is the second concrete truck backing up the hill. We weren't sure if they were going to be able to make it back there because they had to go down the hill and then back up to the patio.

These pictures were taken from inside the house at the back door because I didn't want to get in the way while they were right there. I was outside while they were doing the other side just snapping away.

The first smoothing of the patio.

Doing the final finish on the entire patio.

Still working hard...

The final product from the side.
From the back....
The other part of the patio.
YEAH!!! They finished it today. I couldn't believe it. Two days and it"s done. They will come out the first of next week to removed the support wood from around the sides but we will be able to walk on it tomorrow if we like. We will probably wait until Monday to let the kids get out on it just to make sure. Very excited. Can't wait for our church's 4th of July picnic that will take place at our house so that we can use it.
Hope I haven't bored you too much with our patio project! :)
