An Abundance of Water

   

 

 

   

Do you remember this post about all of the water in the back yard?  Well, we have had LOTS more since then and the water has filled up even more.  In fact on Saturday, Rob and Cade snuck away during nap time and put our boat in the backyard and paddled it down back behind the other houses and into Bayou Manchac.   I wondered where they were when everyone started waking up so I called him on his cell phone.  I said, “Where are you?”  He said, “We’re in Bayou Manchac and on our way back.”

I couldn’t believe it!!  We waited for them to come back in the yard and took the pictures of them coming back.  I had no idea that there was that much water.

Monday afternoon Rob took three other boys out in the boat but they went farther.  As he was coming back, he realized that they were not going to make it back in time for naps since we were having company over.  I had to go pick them up in the van and bring them back.  He went back later and picked up his boat in the truck. (Couldn’t take the truck earlier because Rob had taken the battery out to run the trolling motor so he didn’t have to paddle as hard since he had the smaller boys with him!  In fact, Cade, Ian, and I had to push the truck out of the way so I could  get the van out.)

They had lots of fun.  Ian wanted to go out in the boat but we ran out of time.  Hopefully the water will still be there when we get back in town so Rob can take him out.
