Unofficial Update

P1270181

Ok, I was waiting to hear an official word from the doctor before I posted this update.  However, I have been getting several emails and comments asking how everything was going so I decided to do this unofficial post.

We have not heard from the doctor but what I have been told is that it DOESN’T look like Asa is going to need surgery. (Praise the Lord!!)  Most babies who have the Metopic Craniosynostosis have a triangular shaped head that points out in the front and makes their eyes appear to be cross-eyed. Some babies metopic sutures will close early but not need surgery if they continue to have the rounded forehead and head.  This means that they still have enough room for the brain to grow properly. Obviously from all of the pictures you have seen of sweet little Asa it shows that he has the rounded qualities and not the other.

Their are 4 different sutures (Sagittal, Coronal, Metopic, and Lambdoid) on the top of our skull.  If you were to look at our (adults) skull all of the sutures would not be completely closed except the metopic suture.  This is the suture that has closed up on Asa early.

Sorry it has taken me so long to give you an update but I was trying to wait for an official word!!  I will let you know once I hear anything officially:)

Thanks so much for all of the prayers and to everyone who was willing to help us out in case surgery were needed.  I am thankful to Our Father for each and every one of you.

Let us all praise and thank the Lord for the answer to this prayer!!

We serve an Almighty God, Creator of ALL Things and Savior Jesus Christ who is willing to forgive you of your sins if you would just repent (turn from your sin) and believe in Him.
