Construction Update ~ Wk 6

It was another very productive week. When I left Monday morning to meet with our cabinet man, drop-off my van at the body shop, and pick up the rental van, they were just starting to tear off our existing roof over our garage to start framing the new second story.

Most of the the roof is finished on the shop.  They have to finish the edges or ridge caps (?).

This is how it looked as of Saturday afternoon.  They were trying to get as much done before the rain came in so that it would keep all of the exposed areas in our house dry.

Well, the rain did come and is scheduled for most of the week!  This is not real good for us because water is coming in through our garage, the hallway, the laundry room, and a side wall of our other staircase.  The sheetrock has already started falling from the ceiling of the garage as of Saturday night.  There is damage and will be definite repairs needed:(  Hoping the rain doesn’t hit us like it is predicted.  We’ll see!

UPDATE:  Since I wrote this post Saturday night, we have towels lined down the hallway and garbage cans set up in different locations catching water.  There is sheetrock sagging in different areas along this area  It looks like we are going to have to replace all of the sheetrock in the garage, hallway, and the laundry room.  :)

Oh Wow! These people don't mess around! They are getting things done quickly!
Things may seem stressful now, like you are in a dark thunderstorm, with the wind blowing, hail falling, lightening crashing, but in the end...a beautiful rainbow will appear and you will marvel in God's goodness in bringing you through this dark storm in your life......keep your eyes and heart looking forward to the rainbow...and most importantly... our Lord...
