This past Saturday, we took the day off from work around the house and went to Tickfaw State Park for the day. It is a little over an hour from here but worth the drive. It only cost $1 per person 3 and over to hang out for the day which is very reasonable.
We started out at their water spray park. The kids ran around playing in all of the sprayers. Asa just hung out with momma and daddy unless one of his big brothers were taking him through the sprinklers. It took Sarah a little while to warm up to the idea but she ended up having a blast.
After we spent some time in the water, we left to eat lunch under one of their cover pavilions. We had packed sandwiches, chips, fruit snacks and grapes to eat on while we were there.
Next, we went to one of their playgrounds to run around to release even more extra energy that these children can store up. Asa really liked this area. He crawled around in the pea gravel and on the rubber mats.
Here’s one of the covered areas that they have around the different play areas for us to sit in the shade while the kids were playing.
After playing for a while, we went back to play in the water again. Then, we went down a trail for the kids to dry off before we headed back home.
We went home and unloaded all of our stuff. The kids changed clothes and we headed out to dinner. We decided to go to Cane’s for supper and Sonic for dessert. It was a long day but so much fun. It’s so nice to just step back from all of the work that needs and has to be done to just spend time as a family.
