A Surprise Blessing

tortilla-chips-and-salsa-by-ramon2002

Saturday evening, our family (Rob, Me, and our 8 children) went out to dinner at our favorite Mexican restaurant.  We go there pretty often which means every weekend or every other weekend unless Rob is wanting something different.  The baby and I were really wanting some Mexican so that’s where we went for dinner.

We walked in and were seated.  It’s always funny at the looks we get when we all go in to eat somewhere.  You can tell what some are thinking when they are looking at us.  The chips and salsa are always good before, during, and after the meal!  I could drink the salsa so you will see me scoop it on my chips unlike those who just like to get their chip wet :)

After we finished eating, Rob tried to pay the waiter for our meal because he hadn’t brought us our ticket yet.  The waiter said, “Sir, someone at another table who has already left has paid for your meal.”

We couldn’t believe it.  We told him thank you, left a tip, and left the restaurant.  We explained to the children what had happened.  You see our Lord had put it upon this person’s heart to pay for our meal.  This was such a surprise blessing!

In fact, this has happened to us before.  I know you hear of these things happening to other people but sometimes you wonder do they really happen.  Would a complete stranger do this?  Yes, it does happen even to a table with 2 adults and 8 children.

Just thought I would share with you our surprise blessing.  How have you been blessed recently?

Isn't God good!!! Your family is a light for Christ... How has He blessed me? Amy, there are so many ways, but the one that stands out to me the most is...His mercy. I won't go into details, but He is ever so long-suffering and kind to me, continuing to bless me in spite of my sinful ways.

A wonderful blessing. Each week my Mom and I have breakfast together on Saturday. One week a gentlemen walked over to our table introduced himself and then said he could see that the two of us {my mom and I} had a great bond and the love was so strong. He wanted to bless us and paid for our meal. My Mom was so taken back that she talked about it for days.

What a neat blessing! We had the same thing happen to us recently at Cracker Barrel (not the first time for us either). What a wonderful teachable moment for our children, on many levels!

Mexican, yum my favorite! I'm with your friend, I too could drink the salsa! All my kids love Mexican and I tell them cause I ate it so much when I saw pregnant with them they should be half Mexican...LOL!
